SAS is currently engaged in
rebuilding and modifying a Piper Cub. Some of the special modifications that
the owner has requested are the addition of wing tanks for extra fuel
capacity, moving the rear seat to make more room for the pilot, and
modifying the front seat so that the back of the seat is easily removed and
replaced.

In
the first photo (above, left) you can see the Cub fuselage that has now been
covered. The fabric has been silvered with Poly-Spray for ultraviolet
protection of the fabric. Poly-Spray also provides a sanding base for a
smooth finish. The second photo (above, right) shows the fuselage being
painted in our paint shop.
 Here
we see the that the firewall and engine have been installed on the fuselage.
The landing strut boots are also evident. On the right we can see that the
engine cowling and propeller have been installed. The front seat and the
instrument panel are also evident. next
