In the fourth photo (above, right) Mike Glendenning is preparing the rebuilt cub
wings for covering. This wing has had a new tip bow installed (see photo 5 above,
right) and is now ready
for the leading edge aluminum sheeting. Don't
miss the Fairchild 24 in the background on the fifth photo. Mike has been
fitting a new nose bowl and restoring the sheet metal cowling and wheel
pants to perfect condition. See the Fairchild project for more details.

Here
(above, left) you can see the extra wing tank that has been installed in the left wing
near the wing root. The wings are being fitted to the fuselage (above,
right). You can make out the two wing tanks next to the fuselage at the wing
roots.

Here
a side view of the cub with its assembled wings. The wings will be rigged to their proper shape while on the
fuselage prior to covering.
The photo, above right, was
taken in February 2002. The wings have been rigged, covered, and painted.
The interior has been finish and this aircraft is almost ready to roll.
Whoops, ready to fly! A new registration number has been applied for. This
aircraft is now registered as an Experimental due some of the modifications
requested by the owner.
Here is the finished aircraft
(March 2002) less the registration numbers on the tail. This project is
done! The current plan call for bringing the Fairchild 24
project into the main hanger for some focused effort on completing it but
things will be slow for a while as the staff of SAS is busy preparing for
their annual visit to Sun 'n Fun.
The aircraft was flown by a very
satisfied customer on a Saturday in March 2002. To quote our customer
"Glynn, She is a perfect lady in the air. You have rigged her just
right ........ Lots of people gathered round to see the bird take off Saturday. All had high praise for the work of you and your merry men. The plane will be around for a long time for all to see"
