May 2004 update (continued)

Fabric covering of the main fuselage and all control surfaces has been completed, fully Poly Brushed, one coat of Poly Silver, and sanded.

Here is John Gormican is laying out the initial fabric on the vertical stabilizer. John has been an invaluable aid at this stage. John has really done most of the fabric work and painting. With out his help this phase would have taken weeks longer and the results would not be nearly as professional.

Below, you can see that the vertical stabilizer fabric has been tightened and Poly Brushed. John is tightening an upper section of the fuselage fabric using a temperature calibrated iron. The lower section in the view has already been tightened.

The fuselage as it looks with the wings and fuselage covered (but not Poly Brushed) and the full tanks in place.

Here is the aircraft after its first coat of silver. Since this photo the initial silver coat has been sanded and a second coat is partially applied as of this writing (May 30, 2004).
