We were a little concerned about how successful this
fly in would be as the event had been recently postponed due to the events of Sept.
11 and the subsequent restrictions to enhanced class B airspace. Bob White
Field is located in the enhanced class B airspace of Orlando International (MCO)
airport. Fortune smiled upon us. This particular Saturday was part of the
first period of really fine fall weather (Orlando style) of the year and the
day was absolutely perfect for picnics and for flying. While not our largest
fly in event, there can be no question that this fly in was a great success
and enjoyed by all who attended.
We had 41 aircraft parked along
the runway with many more in or in front of their open hangers and shade
hangers. There were, in addition, 13 SeaReys lined up on the north side of
the airport hangers. Here are some pictures of this event.
